If you intend to study a sample of participants, how will this sample be constructed?

Sample construction comprises two things, determining the sample size and selecting the sample. The sample size is mainly dependent on the required level of accuracy and the available resources of time and money. A high sample gives a view of the general population while it costs more to study and requires more time. Once you know your sample size, selecting the sample becomes the next issue. The best method for selecting a sample is using clustered random sampling. This method involves grouping the members of a population known as clusters in terms of their age, sex and other common issues. Random samples are then selected from these clusters putting in mind the fractional composition of these clusters in the general population.

What procedures will you use to determine if the plan was implemented as planned?

The best way to determine if a sample is properly selected is by looking at the composition of the sample and determining if all clusters are well represented. The research should also show similar results with the studies of other researchers. Comparing the research findings will determine if the sampling process was good enough. Finally, if you look at the graphical representation of the findings, a well spread distribution may show the normality of the distribution and, therefore, be a sign that the population is well represented.
