Judgment
The principle of judgment reminds software engineers to maintain integrity and interdependence while making critical decisions at work. The engineers are expected to make decisions while considering human values to ensure that their decision impacts the lives of other human beings positively (Lurie & Mark, 2016). For example, to support the principle, a software engineer should only endorse a project or documents that they have actively participated in preparing or within their areas of competence and which they agree with. Conversely, an engineer would be violating the principle if they engaged in deceptive financial practices such as bribing to be awarded a tender in which they do not qualify.
