The American Militia

In the seventeen century, several colonial army formed as a group working together started the American militia. This is when the English paramilitary institutions were transferred across the Atlantic. It was an attempt to examine the origin of the oldest Anglo-militia army’s from the Virginia in order to learn more about how the Englishmen delt with the security problems in an alien land. Virginia Company of London had a big number of officers, but they faced financial challenges such that they could not have establish the mercenary cops or any other source of security. This made them know that due to their small output they would face certain loss in the new world. They had to carry their own burden of security as they fought for it.

A veteran mercenary by the name John Smith stood to change the colonial militia into reasonably fighting men, during their training the whole company exercised every Saturday and so they learned how to fight, match, and how to form an order to a battle in the virgin forest of the new world.

Implication of the article

The first American militia article had a meaning which is defined in various aspects and some meaning are hidden, in this we saw colonialisation,tribalisim,fight,disagreement and famine.colonialisation stopped after smiths departure in 1609 completely, tribalism come in where English felt they are confident enough and they offensively go against the Indians, the operation come to be called the feed fight because they were destroying food and stored food, it was the only way to hurt them.in the year 1622 the Indians showed their pain to the Europeans by attacking the Englishmen who were all over the banks of  James river by killing over 400 settler within one day. This tribalism created fight where the governor Francis wyatt gathered several armed and armor where he order them to war, kill, spoil and take everything left by force, the indinians town was destroyed and the quantities of food were grabbed.an opinion was peace where the Indians did not cause mobilization in 18 years later, Virginia was grouped into eight counties and the militia were placed along county lines. The men in each county were grouped into a company and an officer was chosen by the governor to command them. The flaws in this article is misconduct where in the first place they could choose the leader to command each group, the second flaw is fight between the two tribes, this result to damage, killings and war.

It could been better if they had a tight security by having a good training and togetherness, having a good leadership and avoiding tribalism among them. This means that good leadership control war, tribalism killings and damage.

Shea 1977 the author could explain further on how the American colonial militia could have the power of having their own tight security as they work together with the other army from different counties, in this article they could arrange on how to fight tribalism, fight against other, damage of the food and killings among them, they could have the knowledge of uniting people by encouraging people to work and help each other and also to maintain peace among the people, helping the trained army to work for them while they follow the rules from the chosen to command.
