The Root of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is a big problem that emanates from poor time management. It is often said that “procrastination is the thief of time”. To students, this is very true. A student will find time to do all sorts of things including clubbing but will keep saying that there is no sufficient time for completing assignments. The end result is copying from the internet. If this happens, which it does anyway, the consequences are often dire. It comes to that time when the mind seems not capable of processing anything else besides “I wish I knew”. What is the remedy for this?

To reduce the chances of being caught up between contradicting situations like completing assignments fast enough and the length of time and commitment it takes to do the same, students have to play ball. One of the ways to do this is to plan sufficiently. With sufficient plans and a commitment to the same plans, students will be able to work through their assignments sufficiently. This will, in turn, reduce the propensity to put their ‘google skills’ to use and not mess up things.

Secondly, students require discipline. Discipline in this sense is planning as described above, and being ethical. Discipline will allow a student sufficient time to maneuver through assignments at specific times. Discipline will allow a student to give an assignment sufficient attention. Taking credit of other people’s work is being in-disciplined. As such they will have time to go through other people’s work, appreciate and give credit. Discipline will not allow students to buy academic services since they will have their own dedicated time to work it through.
