During my former employment, my employer was using internal control of employees where personnel were responsible for their work. This was a way of allowing motivated groups and individuals to exercise self-discipline to fulfill their job expectations. This type of control system is consistent with many progressive developments. He also used employee performance appraisal as a control system in his organization. It provided employees with recognition of their efforts at work. It also offered an excellent opportunity for the subordinate and the supervisor in agreeing and recognizing on individual developmental and training needs. Performance appraisal makes training to be more relevant and pressing and links it to career aspiration. He used performance appraisal effectively not only in eliminating work-quality problems and behavior but it motivated employees to perform more and better. His believe was that celebrating a well-done job is the easy and best part of performance appraisal. It is also a diplomatically best time that highlights areas requiring improvement. It also helps in resolving problems that are produced by lack of or inadequate communication.
