Assignment 2: Incidence Response Planning
In this assignment, you will create a web proposal for designing a restaurant website. You will take into account the target audience of the restaurant and provide a recommendation to build a website that will highlight the food and services offered at the restaurant.
Scenario:
You are a web designer who has just signed a contract with a new client to develop a website. The client is a high-end Italian restaurant named Roma Café Di Argosy, which will open its doors in the next couple of months. The owner, Mark Albano, is a chef who knows little about web design and marketing.
You are asked to present the client a Home page layout design that is appropriate for his business and target clientele. Accompanying the layout design will be an analysis that provides justification for the chosen design as well as the overall purpose of the website.
Tasks:
Create a 1-page Home page layout design for the website using either Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint. For any images or graphics, use clip art or royalty-free images.
Write a 2- to 3-page analysis (the Home page layout design counts as 1 page) that provides justification for the chosen layout design as well as the purpose of the website. The analysis should be divided into two sections.
The first section should evaluate the artistic elements of the website’s design, including:
Color scheme
Font face, weight, and size of the headings, subheadings, main content, and footer
Navigation (Although the other pages will not be part of the design, links to these pages should be included on the Home page.)
The second section should be an evaluation of the overall presentation of the website, including how the website:
Conveys the exclusivity of the restaurant
Appeals to the target audience
Compares with the competitors’ websites (Include examples of two other websites of similar restaurants [regardless of geographic location] and note the comparative strengths of your design.)
Note: Your presentation or document should utilize at least three scholarly or professional sources (beyond your textbook). Your presentation or document should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources (i.e., in APA format); and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Submission Details:
By the due date assigned, save the document as M2_A2_Lastname_Firstname.doc or the presentation as M2_A2_Lastname_Firstname.ppt and submit it to the Submissions Area.
