According to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the AV duty average of Indonesia in 2004 is 19.6% (World Trade Organization). These import taxes and duty are due during the importation of shoes to Indonesia both by commercial entity and individual entity.

If I am 5years in to exporting shoes in Indonesia, I will start a new global strategy to make my business successful. As a foreign investor in the country, I am required to be administered by Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) which regulates foreign investments law and company law. BKPM will give me the license of exporting. In investments, my strategy is to globalize the company through outsourcing in other countries. After getting the exporting licensing, I will try to understand the culture of the countries that I will export to. I will identify my competitive edge which is manufacturing female sports shoes that appear more personalized due to their feminine colors and shapes. This will provide new opportunities for profits and sales, as well as reducing the price of goods and services due to the economies of scale that derives from a large global base.

Hello Brain. I like your discussion about global strategies that you are going to utilize in exporting shoes. You have discussed how you will venture in foreign markets. I also like how you have highlighted the importance of moving your location plants abroad. You will achieve this by reducing the cost of labor minimizing production cost. If you network your business, it will impact your profits positively. Would you mind elaborating how the licensing model agreement sells its licensing to other businesses?

Hello Jennifer. I like how you have discussed your tariffs duties and global strategies. I agree with you that companies invest where they have desires for full or partial ownership of operations in the global world. I like your choice of shoes- athletic shoes. It is a good venture to invest in as there is the possibility of high profits. Another important strategy is researching about the market you are venturing in. This will give you gaps in countries that require to be filled. Between developed and developing countries where would you wish to invest?
