Google, Yahoo, and other search engines have failed to realize that it is very easy for a website to be created and designed to look very impressive in providing reliable information. More so, anyone can easily post well-constructed information on the websites that are not controlled. In addition, uncontrolled websites can quote their validity but that validity is not guaranteed. To test the information accessed through the search engines, at first, researchers need to have the right skills on how to find and assess the best quality information. There are internet sources such as those of scientific organizations, main newspapers, and academic journals that have maintained the controls they have on their websites to protect the validity of their information. The next thing is that researchers need to be curious about the information that they obtain from an internet source they are not sure how reliable it is and willingly, choose not to use it. Rather the researchers should take time to search for information from sources known to provide valid information.
